Sobre la España Cañí

"'¡Tienes suerte! ¡Esta es la España Cañí!' me dijo el agricultor cuando supo que yo era Americano. La España Cañí se traduce como 'La España profunda'. Es 'la España auténtica' que los turistas pagan a las agencias de viajes para capturar el espíritu de la Península Ibérica. En Extremadura no hay que ir lejos para descubrir la auténtica España. No existen muchos lugares tan auténticos como éste. "

"'You´re lucky! This is la España Cañí!' the old farmer shouted having learned that I was American. La España Cañí translates roughly as 'the real Spain'. La España Cañí is the 'autentic Spain' that tourist pay top dollar to travel agencies in order to catch a glimpse of during the typical package holiday across the Iberian Peninsula. In Extremadura you don´t have to took far to see a bit of the real Spain. It doesn´t get much more authentic than this."
